In life these days, I pretty much pick Mollye's friends. There are say four that she has no choice but to love and play with (Haley, Noah (aka HoHo in Mollye's voice), Mason, and MADDY! Today is a big day for Maddy!

She's offically one today!

Mollye loved the wagon that Maddy got for her birthday! She also was sweet enough to give her hugs and sing happy birthday.

She even decided to make the wagon her bed during Maddy's birthday party. Poor Mollye had been going all day- swim lessons, parade, party, dinner with Ma & Pa. She was worn out.

A few more of the girls:

Happy Birthday, Maddy! We love you!

Girly Girl!

Somedays I think how can she get any more girly... Don't get me wrong I love it! I just was not that way as a child. She loves to priss. For example one of her new loves is wearing Mommy's shoes! I know all kids love to try on big people shoes, but it's just the way she carries herself when walking. Those little arms out in a flowing motion. Purse often on one shoulder.

She's a mess I tell you! Also as girly as can be when it comes to make up. She is at the stage that she loves to pretend that she is putting on her makeup while Mommy is getting ready. This particular morning she had wanted a little face moisturizer. I let her as she was very cute dabbing it on her face in such a girly, Mollye way. Well it quickly got out of hand, but as I've told you before I'm all about discovery learning so I just let her go at it while I stood watching and laughing. She decided that it should also go in the hair for a little styling... Please note these pictures are after she tried cleaning it off her face. Be on the lookout for the toliet paper stuck to her.

Steph's Shower

Dr. Seuss was the theme!!! It was so much fun! I have to admit this might have been my favorite shower to plan ever. Just check out all the small details:

Wonderful gift thanks to kmaccreations! Steph LOVED her diaper bag!!!

Now I just have to wait for the arrival of Miss Hallie Kate!

DAD photo shoot

No, before you ask I have not forgotten about the vacation pictures. I promise I will start working on those posts tonight.

Today Mollye and I made a trip up to Sewanee to do our annual "DAD" photos. Last year, she was terrified of holding the letters. This year she had a blast! She loved everything about our small photo shoot. Here are some of our shots (sorry, I am playing with the light in some):

Why are some days hard?

Why is it that some days are harder than others?

Sundays to be exact.

Take this Sunday for example. Mollye chose to be extra talkative in church. I decided to be the good mom and take her to the nursery. Well let's just say that was like throwing her in the lion's exhibit at the zoo. Seriously it was-three screaming children, another one with diarrhea, two in the corner playing by their self, and two teachers each sitting on the floor doing nothing really. So needless to say we did not stay. We decided to go ahead and head home.

This is when the hard part hits (yes, I guess the stuff at church could be considered hard as well). We are driving home. We pass my aunt's house (where my grandmother always lived). The simple look at that house is when I have the hardest moments. I know that had it been last year we would have taken the opportunity to stop in and see Nana. She loved for Mollye and I to come visit, and the best visits were those Sundays when it was just Mollye and I sneaking out of church early. Oh how I would love to have just one more of those visits. I am thankful for all the visits that we did get to have, but I can't help but just wish she could hear that sweet little voice say "I love you, Nana."

So I ask why Sunday are you so hard? I know I do not have an answer, and I know that Sunday will always remain a challenge as it was our day. My only solution is to take the longer drive home and avoid the house all together on those hard Sundays.

School's out for SUMMER!

Which means lots of playing with this sweet girl!!!

Oh the fun we will have! Trips to the park, to see the boys, to see Maddy, to play in our own backyard, swim lessons, and did I mention we are going to DISNEY!!! Yes, I know it's not the perfect age/nor best financial move, but the trip just kind of fell in our laps. I am not turning down DISNEY and a chance to take Mollye to the beach!!!
